The River

Rachel Bulow
Rachel Bulow is a Denver-based yoga teacher and birth worker who first found yoga in her teens and has been devoted to movement and mindfulness ever since. Her classes blend strength, breath, and grounded presence, creating an experience that feels both empowering and deeply supportive. At The River, she serves as a teacher mentor, a member of the 200hr Teacher Training faculty, and teaches powerful flows every Thursday (Hot at 4:00pm, Open Air at 5:30pm at Sunnyside)! When she’s not at The River, Rachel works closely with growing families as a prenatal yoga instructor and postpartum doula and is endlessly inspired by the wonder of the human experience. Expect a playlist she’s been working on for years, an uplifting, intentional flow with a few playful challenges, and space to slow down and soak in the magic of practicing together.

Andy Jans
Andy Jans, RYT 500, a Colorado native who found yoga as a supplement to all of his other active Colorado activities. After yoga found him, Andy quickly fell in love with the many aspects of yoga and the many different styles of yoga. Andy’s classes can be described as fun, creative, grounding, and challenging. His classes are accessible to all students and encourages his students to have fun and not take themselves seriously. He also has a passion for teaching and practicing the slower practices like yin. Andy teaches Hot River Flow Wednesdays at 4 & 5:30 at the Golden Triangle River location. When Andy isn’t teaching yoga he loves to be outside doing any of the typical Colorado activities, seeing live music, exploring a new city, and practicing his banjo.

Amanda Hirth
Amanda Hirth, RYT-500, is a Cincinnati native whose yoga journey was initially cultivated across Ohio from practicing (since 2007), training, and teaching (since 2019). Recently uprooting to Denver, CO she has continued her growth as a teacher and forever student of yoga. Her classes are grounding yet expansive, weaving together yogic philosophy with tangible, embodied experience. Expect thoughtful sequencing, empowering strength, and an atmosphere that feels intentional yet humble. You can find her teaching at The River Yoga on Sundays and Thursdays. Off the mat, she can be found with her dog, Archer, hiking, mountain biking, attending any concert she can get to, and meticulously stitching together playlists.

Steven Turetsky
Steven Turetsky (RYT-200) is a Philadelphian who found yoga in college as an essential mental health practice. After more than a decade in Denver, he’s come to see that yoga is even better when shared in community. His classes combine challenging shapes, big breath, and good music in a playful environment that helps students build individuality and confidence. He also leads “Yoga with Jews,” a holiday practice that brings Jews and friends of Jews together for movement, laughter, and usually latkes. Outside the studio, Steve works in neurotechnology marketing, telling stories about new therapies for brain and mental health. Both sides of his work reinforce his belief that medicine and mindfulness are stronger together. Go birds. Do yoga with Steve on Tuesdays at 6pm and Wednesdays at 8:30am at The River Sunnyside.

Kendall Ashmore
Kendall Ashmore is a 500-hour yoga teacher and licensed massage therapist originally from the Black Hills of South Dakota. She began practicing yoga over a decade ago as a way to reconnect with her body and spirituality during one of the most challenging seasons of her life. With a background in vinyasa and a love of body mechanics, Kendall creates thoughtfully designed sequences that build strength, regulate the nervous system, and invite students to move and breathe with intention. She weaves storytelling and meaningful themes into her classes to create an experience that helps students move, reflect, and feel more connected to themselves and the people around them. You can find Kendall at The River Yoga’s Golden Triangle location offering massage or teaching Tuesday classes at 4:30pm and 6pm at The River Yoga Five Points.

Better Buzz Yoga

Shanti Rodrigues
Shanti, a Venezuelan native, discovered the transformative power of yoga in 2010 while living in New York City. Since relocating to Denver in 2020, she has deepened her practice through both her 200-hour and 300-hour Yoga Teacher Trainings. Her continued study of yoga asana and philosophy has fueled a passion for guiding others toward inner peace, creating space for students to come home to themselves through the connection of mind, body, and heart. Shanti is a strong advocate for cultural humility and inclusivity within yoga spaces, grounded in her belief that yoga has the power to liberate, unite, and uplift all people. As a dynamic and engaging bilingual instructor, Shanti creates an environment where students feel seen, supported, and connected. She is excited to return for her third bilingual class at Yoga on the Rocks, where she empowers students to cultivate self-awareness, self-love, and independence on their personal journeys while honoring the deep interconnectedness of all beings.

Ashleigh Humphrey
Ashleigh has been teaching yoga for over 13 years, with a focus on Hatha, Yin, the subtle body, and mindfulness-based practices. After moving to Denver in early 2025, she quickly became part of the Better Buzz Yoga community, offering Mindful Flow, Vin-Yin, and Yin Yoga classes that are grounding, intentional, and accessible to all levels. Her teaching blends slow, thoughtful sequencing with clear, supportive cueing, inviting students to unplug and journey inward as a balance to busy, outwardly focused lives. With a continued dedication to learning, Ashleigh has deepened her studies in Yin Yoga and Chinese Meridian Theory, weaving seasonal awareness and subtle body wisdom into her classes. Her approach emphasizes breath, presence, and gentle self-awareness — creating space for ease, restoration, and self-healing. Off the mat, Ashleigh is an interior designer, enjoys trail running and hiking with her two doodles, and loves to travel.

Dina Paz
Dina is a Honduran native who found yoga as a way to balance the fast-paced demands of the culinary world while reconnecting to her center and sense of empowerment. After more than two decades in the industry, she understands firsthand the physical and mental toll of a busy lifestyle. Her personal journey of healing through yoga inspired her to become a certified instructor and share this transformative practice with others. Today, Dina is dedicated to helping the Denver community find peace and balance amidst the hustle of daily life. She creates classes that serve as a refuge from stress, blending mindful movement with reflection to support overall well-being. Dina teaches a variety of styles — including Vinyasa, Yin, and Restorative — and proudly offers classes in both English and Spanish, making her offerings accessible to a wide range of individuals.

Sarah Terranova
Sarah’s yoga journey began in 2009 in a heated power vinyasa class in Utah. What started as a purely physical complement to an active lifestyle soon revealed itself as something more meaningful. Her yoga practice became a gateway to a deeper connection within—one rooted in awareness, trust, and transformation both on and off the mat. In 2013, Sarah completed her 200-hour Power Yoga Teacher Training at Zuda Yoga in Sacramento. A lifelong student, she has continued to expand her studies with certifications in Yin, Bhakti, Yoga Nidra, Trauma-Informed Yoga, a 100-hr advanced yoga training, and Holographic Sound Healing. With over 2,000 hours of teaching experience Sarah brings passion and purpose to all of her classes; Connection is at the heart of Sarah’s teaching. Through breath, creative sequencing, and purposefully curated music, she guides students to explore their growth edge—that space where strength meets surrender, and where transformation becomes possible. Her classes are both dynamic and intentional, offering a balance of effort and ease that meets students exactly where they are.
Rooted Heart Yoga & Wellness

Kimberly (Kimmy) Hidalgo
Kimmy is a mother, yoga teacher, and embodiment guide with over 12 years of experience. She loves being outdoors and draws deep inspiration from nature in all that she offers. She is the creator of Wild Shakti Yoga, a practice that blends intuitive movement, breath, and energy to awaken the body’s natural wisdom, and she co-facilitates retreats in Baja and Colorado. She is the founder of The Rose Cave, a space devoted to healing and feminine embodiment, offering Reiki, womb-centered care, and women’s circles. Kimmy also teaches prenatal yoga and works with plant medicine at Balanced Root Apothecary, and partners with Innovative Yogis to design and lead corporate wellness experiences. Her classes invite students to connect, explore, and come home to themselves.

Holly Hoops
Holly’s yoga journey began in 2004 in Norfolk, VA, where she found a supportive yoga community and deep connection to the practice through her teacher and mentor, Lisa Asha Rapp. Her path soon led her on frequent trips to New York to study Sanskrit with Manorama and Jivamukti Yoga with Sharon Gannon and David Life—an experience that continues to shape her teaching and personal philosophy. Certified in 2008 (200-HR), Holly has spent the years since expanding her knowledge across a variety of yogic and healing modalities. After relocating to Colorado in 2011, she’s had the honor of teaching in many of Denver’s beloved studios, creating welcoming spaces for students of all levels. Known for her creative sequencing and thoughtfully curated playlists, Holly’s classes invite students on a fun, flowing journey that blends movement, mindfulness, and breath. Her philosophy is simple: if you can breathe, you can do yoga. Each class offers space to explore, play, and reconnect—just as you are. In addition to teaching yoga, Holly is a 750+ HR Certified Community Herbalist and owns Spirit of the Herbs Apothecary. She is also a Floral Preservationist and owns Flora Alchemy Co. preservation and design. She loves weaving botanical themes and elemental wisdom into her classes, offering a unique and grounded experience that supports the body, mind, and spirit.

Rumika (Rumi) Choudhuri
Rumi has been immersed in the practice of yoga from a young age, taking her first class at 11 years old at Sivananda Yoga in India. What began early in life has evolved into a lifelong devotion to yoga, meditation, and spiritual inquiry — practices that continue to ground and guide both her personal path and the way she shares this work with others. After a career as a corporate fashion executive, Rumi made a conscious and wholehearted transition into the world of yoga and wellness over a decade ago. Since then, she has been deeply engaged in the space, and holds her 200- and 300-hour training certifications through ISHTA Yoga. Rumi currently leads weekly classes, teacher trainings, workshops, and retreats. In addition to her teaching and mentoring, she oversees Rooted Heart Yoga & Wellness and its training programs, and works as a consultant within the yoga and wellness space. Originally from the East Coast (Connecticut and New York City) and now based in Denver, Rumi teaches with the intention of creating space for students to reconnect with their own inner wisdom and expand into their fullest, most authentic potential — both on and off the mat.
