This summer marks the return to the road for the Taste of Chaos tour and features some of alternative rock’s defining acts. The Early November and Saosin with Anthony Green will kick off an evening full of alt rock favorites at tour stops, followed by Taking Back Sunday who are currently beginning work on their seventh studio album. Dashboard Confessional closes the evening with the unmistakable sounds and charismatic stage presence of Chris Carrabba.

Originally launched in 2005 by Warped Tour founder Kevin Lyman and John Reese (co-founder of Mayhem Festival, Oddball Festival), Rockstar Taste Of Chaos went on to hit 20 countries around the world over its five-year run, helping to launch the careers of bands like Thirty Seconds To Mars, Paramore, My Chemical Romance, Chiodos, Saosin and more, while highlighting such fan favorites as The Used, Deftones, Avenged Sevenfold, Rise Against, Thrice, Story of The Year and Taking Back Sunday.

About the 2016 tour re-launch, Kevin Lyman says, “It has been awhile, but I had always hoped that the Rockstar Taste of Chaos tour had a chance to come back. That time is now, and I am excited that the artists thought it was time too.”

John Reese adds, “After the very successful Taste of Chaos destination festival in San Bernardino, CA in October 2015, we felt that we wanted to bring a number of those amazing bands around the country.”

DASHBOARD CONFESSIONAL
Propelled by Chris Carrabba’s intimate and emotionally raw lyrics, sweeping acoustics, and his charismatic presence, Dashboard Confessional stands as one of the biggest alternative bands of the 2000s.  Critically acclaimed and embraced by a legion of fans, Dashboard’s brand of alternative rock swept through a generation who embraced their albums and sold out arenas (their last full band tour culminated in selling out NYC’s Madison Square Garden!). “One is reminded of Bob Dylan’s Blood on the Tracks, only stripped down to the bare essentials,” praised PopMatters about their debut The Swiss Army Romance, setting the tone for the band’s massive impact on both their fans and the media alike, including SPIN, Alternative Press, MTV, among many others.

Their breakthrough second album 2002’s The Places You Have Come to Fear the Most included the trademark single “Screaming Infidelities”, yielding their first gold certified album and peaking at #5 on Billboard’s Top 200. Later that same year, the single won the MTV2 Award at the 2002 MTV Video Music Awards. Their third album A Mark, A Mission, A Brand, A Scar gave them their first Top Ten Modern Rock single “Hands Down” and reached #2 on the Top 200.  To date, Dashboard Confessional has a platinum album with their live release MTV Unplugged, three RIAA certified gold-selling albums (Swiss Army Romance, The Places You Have Come to Fear the Most, A Mark, A Mission, A Brand, A Scar), and has had numerous songs featured on TV (Cougar Town, One Tree Hill, Scrubs, All My Children, Laguna Beach, NCIS, Cold Case, Clone High) and in movies (Shrek 2, Spider-Man 2,Made of Honor, Sydney White).

TAKING BACK SUNDAY
Taking Back Sunday have also just embarked on the recording of their seventh studio album and follow up to their 2014 Top 10 Billboard charting Hopeless Records release, Happiness Is. Working with experienced producer and frequent collaborator Mike Sapone and engineer Mike Pepe, the band feels right at home (literally for lead vocalist Adam Lazzara and guitarist/vocalist John Nolan) recording in Charlotte, NC.

“During this process we’ve been discovering and surprising ourselves in realizing how good of a band we’ve become. Not to go full Kanye but none of us can believe, when we’re listening back during tracking, that this is our band. It’s incredible. The timing also worked perfectly, we’ll basically be going straight from the studio to Taste Of Chaos where we’ll have the opportunity to let these new songs out of their cages,” the band explains.
