“We are thrilled to have John Legend and Whitney Cummings performing at our opening night,” said Randi Kleiner, CEO of SeriesFest. “Not only are these two extraordinary artists leaders in their craft, but they are also long-time champions of TV—John Legend as a producer and Whitney Cummings as an actress and content creator–and there is no better way to kick off our four-day celebration of episodic storytelling than with this special duo.”

John Legend has revealed several personas during his award-winning career. Singer/Songwriter. Musician. Producer. Philanthropist. Entrepreneur. To quote music industry pioneer Quincy Jones, the nine-time Grammy winner is simply “a genius.” Writing about Legend for Time’s 2009 tally of the 100 most influential people, Jones noted, “We’ve seen only the tip of the iceberg. For what he has already achieved in his career, it is going to be fun watching where he goes from here.” The fun begins now. Legend, one of the industry’s most innovative artists, returns after five years with his much-anticipated fourth solo album, Love in the Future (G.O.O.D/Columbia). Taking R&B/soul to the next level, Legend creates an immersive experience about romance, love, hope, commitment and optimism. Enhancing the experience: a rich, melodic soundscape–accented by compelling interludes–that fully integrates the musician’s gospel and pop influences, classical training and unerring hip-hop/soul sensibilities. John Legend is also a Film and TV Producer and owns Get Lifted Film Company.

“I am looking forward to performing again at Red Rocks as part of the Opening Night event for SeriesFest: Season One,” said John Legend.

SeriesFest will be the last US performance for John Legend before he launches his long-awaited European Tour on Tuesday, June 23rd in Cork, Ireland at Live at the Marquee. Additional stops will includes visit cities throughout the UK, Switzerland, Italy, Netherlands and Portugal. For more tour information, please visit http://www.johnlegend.com.

Whitney Cummings is a Los Angeles based comedian, actor, writer and producer. Most recently, she appeared in the summer tour Oddball Comedy & Curiosity Festival, co-headlining with Sarah Silverman, Amy Schumer, Aziz Ansari, Louis C.K. and more.  Cummings’ second one-hour stand-up special, Whitney Cummings: I Love You, debuted on Comedy Central in June 2014. In the special, she shares brutally honest insights about love and relationships, covering everything from what real orgasms look like to her frustration at men calling women “crazy.”

Cummings co-created and co-wrote, along with Michael Patrick King, the CBS comedy 2 Broke Girls, which recently returned for a 4th season. She also wrote, produced and starred in her autobiographical sitcom Whitney, which aired on NBC for 2 seasons between September 2011 and April 2013. Cummings appeared regularly on E!’s, Chelsea Lately, as well as Comedy Central’s Roast series.  Her one-hour stand up special, Money Shot, premiered on Comedy Central in August 2010 and was nominated for an American Comedy Award later that year.

“I can’t wait to perform at the inaugural SeriesFest: Season One in Denver and inhale in all the second hand smoke from stoners in the audience,” said Whitney Cummings.
