Musician, filmmaker, humanitarian, Michael Franti, is recognized as a pioneering force using music as a vehicle for positive change as well as his unforgettable, high energy shows with his band, Spearhead.  With the multi-platinum success of his song “Say Hey (I Love You)” and the chart breaking 2010 release of The Sound Of Sunshine, Franti and his band guarantee a show that will be thought provoking as well as energetic.

“Music is sunshine,” says Franti, one of the most positive and conscious artists in music today. “Music gives us new energy and a stronger sense of purpose.” Franti has a brand new single, “Life is Better with You” which is on his latest album, All People. Most recently, Rolling Stone premiered a captivating video of Franti’s song, “Same As It Ever Was,” which he wrote in response to the struggle for modern day civil rights. “ONCE A DAY” ART BACKGROUND INFO:
The poster for the Once A Day Tour has some deep roots.  The “Love Bomber” image, designed by Ryan Dreimiller, first appeared in an earlier form as the art for our concert at the Higher Ground in Burlington, VT back in 2002.  My manager reminded me it was one of my favorite posters ever made for a Spearhead concert, so good we felt it was a shame that it wasn’t used internationally.  When we spoke to Alex at the Higher Ground he remembered the important image and was generous to share it.  To me it symbolizes the opportunity that all of us have to share and inspire caring each day we are on the planet.  The reason we chose to bring it back at this time is that with all the war, social turmoil and environmental destruction we see in the world today, we feel this message is more important than it ever has been.

The title of the tour comes from our new song “Once A Day” (coming this summer) which talks about the chaos and uncertainty of life and my belief that we should all take the time to hug, kiss, remember and love somebody “AT LEAST once a day” (and preferably a lot more often!). It’s all about highlighting positivity, finding ways to give back to the greater good, celebrating the journey and being grateful for the blessings and challenges of life.

Our band, crew and management have all dedicated ourselves to this musical, mindful mission and are proud to drop this phone screen saver version of the poster in appreciation for all the inspiration you give us each day!

“I heard the purpose of life, is to live a life full of purpose
So don’t ever take for granted what the spirit has given you
In the first verse, you might never get a second verse
This ain’t rehearsal you can’t put it in reverse
So just believe in yourself
Don’t let nobody being negative tell you what to do
‘cause I know in this sweet sweet life that just this much is true, because…
Everybody oughta hug somebody at least once a day,
Everybody oughta kiss somebody at least once a day,
Everybody’s gonna miss somebody at least once a day,
and everybody oughta love somebody everyday!”
