Economic Impacts of Red Rocks Amphitheatre
Red Rocks Amphitheatre is an important source of economic activity that supports thousands of jobs, tens of millions of dollars of tax revenue, and hundreds of millions of dollars of income and economic output in the Denver Metro Area and the State of Colorado, according to a new report by BBC Research & Consulting, which was commissioned by Denver Arts & Venues in 2022.
The venue hosts world-class events attracting visitors from outside the region who spend money at local businesses, creating jobs, income and tax revenue.
In 2022, out-of-state visitors accounted for 33 percent of the total event attendance and spent $305 million in the Denver Metro Area, benefiting various sectors like transportation, accommodation, food, retail, arts, entertainment, and recreation. Visitor spending supports around 7,000 jobs, generating $216 million in income and $717 million in economic output annually. Additionally, it contributes over $20 million in tax revenue each year.
Red Rocks also supports Denver’s cultural community through local artist grants and programs, with $3 million in grant support to local artists, 250 artists and art organizations receiving funding support and 250,000+ Denver residents exposed to arts & cultural programs.
