With 3,000 acres of parks and parkways, 2,500 urban natural acres, and
close to 8,000 acres of urban forest within the city alone, program
partner Denver Parks and Recreation (DPR) adds extensive access to City
recreation centers, gyms and the outdoors for participants to continue
their workouts on their own during the week. DPR will conduct all
fitness tests in order to track each participant’s progress and final
results, based on their pre-assessment test levels and personal goals.
HealthONE physician Matt Lugliani, M.D. will serve as Medical Expert to
the 350 Challenge participants. Dr. Lugliani will oversee the health of
all participants during the 90 days of workout and dietary changes, as
well as contribute blog posts about exercise and nutrition’s impact on
illness, aging, and whole body health; and frequent tips for easy
healthy lifestyle changes.
“As a parent who works full-time, I understand how hard it can be to
manage your health,” said Lugliani. “What I am most excited about with
the HealthONE Red Rocks Fitness Challenge is working with the
participants on a personal level to determine the simple daily changes
participants can make to see life-long health improvements.”
Challenge participants will also benefit from the expertise of Holistic
Health Practitioner and LARABAR Representative, Jennifer Tingstad, who
will provide weekly nutrition tips and host a seminar on overall health
and habits.
